Investing in Creativity

At SCBA, we believe that nurturing creativity is just as important as fostering academics or athletics. The New Bedford High School Drama Club provides students with a place to explore self-expression, confidence, and teamwork, which is why we’re proud to support their work.

A Thriving Program

New Bedford High School has a robust fine arts department, and the drama club is a centerpiece of that. Students dedicate countless hours after school to rehearsals and performances, showing the kind of passion and perseverance that extends far beyond the classroom.

Bringing Stories to Life

The Drama Club has staged ambitious productions, including their 2025 performance of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella. Productions like these transform the Bronspiegel Auditorium into a hub of creativity, while giving students hands-on experience in acting, singing, dancing, technical design, and stagecraft.

Building Skills Beyond the Stage

For many students, the drama club is more than a place to perform. It’s a chance to learn leadership, time management, and collaboration. Whether they shine under the spotlight or thrive behind the scenes in technical roles, every participant discovers strengths that carry into their future.

SCBA’s Role in the Arts

SCBA’s support helps make these opportunities possible. From resources for costumes and sets to ensuring productions remain accessible to all, our contributions help students focus on what matters: telling stories and growing as individuals.

Why It Matters

Every performance is more than entertainment. It’s a showcase of hard work, creativity, and teamwork. Supporting the Drama Club aligns with SCBA’s mission of empowering youth, fostering confidence, and investing in the next generation of leaders and creators.
