The SouthCoast Business Alliance (SCBA) has long believed in the importance of supporting organizations that protect and uplift at-risk youth in our community. One of those vital partners is the Children’s Advocacy Center of Bristol County (CAC) in Fall River—a nonprofit dedicated to providing safety, healing, and justice for children who have experienced abuse or trauma. Their mission aligns seamlessly with our own commitment to raising funds and resources for vulnerable young people across the SouthCoast.
A Meaningful Visit
This past Wednesday, our board gathered at the CAC facility for our monthly meeting. The visit included a guided tour of the center, offering us deeper insight into the critical services they provide. From forensic interviews to counseling, advocacy, and prevention initiatives, the CAC’s work ensures that children receive the care and support they need in a safe and compassionate environment.
The visit reaffirmed our shared values and strengthened our resolve to continue supporting the CAC’s mission. To learn more about their work, visit the Children’s Advocacy Center of Bristol County.
Honoring Dedication and Kindness
While at the center, we had the privilege of recognizing one of our own—Deborah Aguiar, an emeritus SCBA member whose generosity and leadership have inspired us for more than a decade. After ten years of dedicated service, board members earn emeritus status and are traditionally presented with a commemorative watch as a token of appreciation.
In her characteristic spirit of giving, Deborah chose instead to donate the value of her gift directly to the Children’s Advocacy Center. Her act of kindness reflects the very heart of SCBA’s mission: putting community first and ensuring our efforts create meaningful impact.
Continuing the Mission
Moments like this remind us why SCBA exists—to unite local business leaders in giving back to the community we call home. We are deeply grateful for partners like the CAC, and for members like Deb, who lead with compassion and generosity.
We love and appreciate you, Deb—thank you for continuing to inspire us.
